City launches new resources to better support small businesses

Bellevue's city government has unveiled a suite of services aimed at supporting local businesses, particularly small enterprises, beginning in January. The Development Services Department will offer complimentary consulting to guide entrepreneurs through the permitting process, enhancing clarity and reducing risks. Mayor Lynne Robinson noted that small businesses represent 97% of the city's economy, underscoring their significance. Additionally, the city's cultural and economic development team will provide proactive, one-on-one support for businesses of all sizes. Bellevue's partnership with the Washington SBDC will ensure no-cost advising on various aspects of business operations, including financial readiness. The initiative also includes competitive grants tailored for artists and cultural organizations. These resources aim to streamline access to city services, fostering a more inclusive local economy. Business owners are encouraged to reach out early for assistance.
