Bellevue Firefighters Foundation Hosts Online Holiday Gift Drive

The Bellevue Firefighters Community Support Foundation (BFCSF) is adapting its annual holiday gift drive to an online format, enabling support for families in need amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of collecting toys, the foundation will convert donations into $25 gift cards, assisting approximately 3,000 families identified by the Bellevue School District. Charlie Kimball, president of the BFCSF board, highlighted the ongoing struggles faced by many families in the Eastside community, reinforcing the importance of this initiative. In previous years, BFCSF has successfully run programs such as the "Ready for School" initiative, which provided backpacks and supplies to local children, and the "Feed the Fight" initiative, which helped deliver meals to over 2,000 individuals during the pandemic. The foundation is also looking forward to future projects, including a firefighter camp for young women and a community service scholarship program. Donations can be made on the BFCSF website until November 30, making this a timely opportunity to give back during the holiday season. With sponsorship from Bellevue Parks and Community Services and other partners, the BFCSF continues to play a vital role in enhancing the holiday experience for local families. This drive forms part of the broader "Heart of Bellevue" campaign, aimed at connecting residents with local businesses and community stories.
