A Fresh Cut and Perspective How Bishops Bellevue Opened its Doors to Local Artists
Bishops Bellevue has transformed its salons into vibrant galleries for local artists, addressing the acute need for creative outlets during the pandemic. Sierra Sharp, the Regional Manager, initiated this program after recognizing that many local artists were struggling to find platforms to display their work. The exhibits feature a diverse range of themes, focusing on change and the cyclical nature of life, reflecting the sentiments of the community. To further enhance the initiative, Bishops partners with local nonprofits, allowing clients to support causes like Ben's Fund, which helps children with Autism, by donating and receiving Bishops Bucks in return. The program has fostered a positive response from the community, igniting conversations about multicultural identities and the importance of artistic expression. As artists are rotated quarterly, each exhibition brings fresh perspectives and creativity to the salon environment. The initiative not only supports local artists but also promotes mental health and positivity among staff and clients. Bishops Bellevue aims to create a community connection through art, fostering goodwill and engagement.
