Bellevue Facebook Marketplace robbery suspect arrested

A 20-year-old Bellevue man, A Blessing McDaniel, has been arrested for allegedly robbing victims he contacted through Facebook Marketplace. One victim, Mateo, described how McDaniel threatened him with a rifle during a robbery attempt on March 13 at a Bellevue shopping center. Surveillance footage documented the tense encounter, highlighting McDaniel's nervousness before he tried to escape. Bellevue police report that McDaniel is linked to similar robberies in Seattle, Edmonds, and Kent. He has a prior conviction for violating a domestic violence protection order and faces multiple pending cases in different jurisdictions. Authorities advise those buying or selling through social media to meet in public places and prioritize safety. McDaniel's bail is currently set at $210,000, and he faces charges including first-degree robbery and motor vehicle theft.
