Bellevue Essentials application period opens
Bellevue Essentials, a civic engagement program, invites applications for its fall 2025 cohort until July 23. The course runs from September 10 to November 12, featuring eight Wednesday evening classes and a Saturday field trip to local neighborhoods. Since its inception in 2013, more than 400 graduates have emerged, many contributing to local governance through boards and commissions. Participants will explore the workings of city government and learn how to influence municipal decisions. Tuition costs $150, but fee waivers are available for eligible residents. To graduate, attendees must complete at least eight of the ten sessions. This initiative aims to enhance community involvement and awareness of volunteer opportunities. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on July 23.
